New concept for Ralph Lauren spotted at the Starhill Mall in Kuala Lumpur. Although it retains the rustic charm and brand heritage of RL it feel fresh and contemporary, well done.

Blue Ocean - 1

I was recently in this Blue Ocean surf shop in Denpasar, Bali. If you’re looking for some graphic design creative inspiration I think a surf shop would be a good place to start. There are no rules, guidelines or historic precedents to follow in these kind of stores. They’re proud nonconformists, they actively loo to break the rules and do the unexpected. Everywhere I looked in this store there were examples of innovation in graphic design, some good and some not so good, but it was dynamic, inspiring and made we want to challenges some of the norms under which I operate. It’s worth a look.

Religion retail

I saw this retail concept in Denpasar, Bali last week and thought it was edgy and provocative. The challenge is delivering on the brand promise. Although the interior was well done it was closer to mainstream urban brands, not quite the experience that this shopfront suggests, However, it was intriguing and differentiated.
